Request #RT-6899

To Whom it May Concern, I am the West Coast legal correspondent for Reuters, and I am doing research on police management issues nationally. Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I am requesting the following information: - The number of police arbitration proceedings the City of Oakland has participated in over the past five years, per year - Name of the attorneys representing the officers in each of those proceedings - Name of the attorneys representing the city in each proceeding - Result of each proceeding (discipline affirmed, overruled or modified) In addition, I’d like total fees billed by any outside law firm retained by the city for representation in police arbitration cases, per year going back five years. Please note that I am not requesting any attorney/client privileged information about nature of the work, just dollars billed. If this information could be produced to me on a rolling basis, as you collect it, I would be grateful. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and thanks very much for your time!
