Under California’s Public Records Act, I am seeking information and records pertaining to negligent or accidental discharges by member of the Oakland Police Department.


  • How many negligent, or accidental, discharges has the department had Each year since 2012?
  • I am seeking copies of reports on negligent or accidental discharges by officers during active responses (police calls, 911 responses, etc.) since 2012.
  • Most important and immediate, I am seeking copies of the reports of negligent or accidental discharges that occurred during the response to the mass shooting at Oikos University on April 2, 2012.`
