The City is withholding documents covered by the attorney-client privilege pursuant to Section 6254(k) of the Public Records Act which states that “Records, the disclosure of which is exempted or prohibited pursuant to federal or state law, including, but not limited to, provisions of the Evidence Code relating to privilege.” Additionally, Councilmember Kaplan's office has redacted some personal phone numbers & addresses from the responsive records pursuant to the constitutional rights of privacy and to protect against identity theft per Government Code Section 6254(c).
